Encourage her to draw and get a childs book on drawing
because acquiring some early techniques is very encouraging.
Play Mental Hide and Seek you think of somewhere
that you have hidden an object in the house and challenge
her to track it down purely using her visual memory
of the layout of the house and its objects. ( Children
with good visual memories are good spellers and find exams
easier.) Good car game
Listen to some evocative music Beethovens Pastorale
or Handels Water Music for example, and you both draw what
it makes you imagine. A stream? A wood? Fireworks?
Look for patterns in clouds or leaves.
Design an ideal house or home for a favourite toy or pet.
Or an ideal dress or jumper.
Follow and plan routes for car trips and use a compass.
Plan and have a treasure hunt with clues.
Encourage him or her to visualise in detail a successful
sports or games performance.
Encourage her to have imaginary conversations with people
from history she is learning about. Or to imagine touring
a geographical feature he has been studying or even shrinking
in size to run around the outline of a geometric shape.
Imagine in detail what it would be like to be a Roman, a
Greek soldier, or an historical figure. Imagine being bound
to a wheel chair or being blind or deaf. Try it for half
an hour.
Create a collage with natural materials from a visit to
the country or from the garden. Or try modelling with clay.

Challenge her to represent feelings as abstract designs.
Encourage her to mentally rehearse something she has to
do like read out a play part, run a race or play
a tennis stroke.
